We have finally made it to Spring and we are excited to See Our World in fresh, bright colours again!
Significantly we are also entering Eye Care Awareness Month which is commemorated from 20 September to 17 October to raise awareness about the importance of eye health, specifically around the prevention and treatment of blindness. Many blinding disorders are either preventable or treatable which is why it is important to get your eyes examined yearly, even if you feel you are still seeing clearly. Please have a look at our eye disease simulators for an indication of common symptoms.
At Vision we have always invested in world class equipment to ensure we can provide the best possible diagnosis for our clients, so be sure to book your annual exam so we can take a photo of your retina and measure your intraocular pressure to identify possible eye disease. If necessary, we can also perform the ground breaking GDX measurement for glaucoma screening or run a visual field scan to check that the pathway from eye to brain is healthy.
To remind you of the importance of your eye health Kahn Morbee, friend of Vision and singer of our favourite South African band The Parlotones, recently popped in to have his eyes examined with us.

Enjoy Spring
The VISION team
Good eyesight is an important part of wellbeing and an important factor in retaining independence and enjoying better quality of life as we get older.
Loss of vision does not need to be an accepted consequence of ageing. Vision can deteriorate for many reasons and, even when associated with the ageing process, many interventions are available.
The World Health Organization estimates that up to 80 per cent of blindness and serious visual loss around the world is avoidable through prevention or treatment.
Having your eyes regularly tested for vision and health can help identify problems early and help prevent loss of eyesight.
